The Concept: Durability for the Modern Explorer The city can be a demanding environment. From uneven pavement to unpredictable weather, your footwear needs to provide more than just style—it needs to provide protection. The Urban Combat Boot is our answer to the rugged needs of the modern creator. Inspired by traditional military silhouettes but refined with a slim, contemporary profile, these boots offer a sense of “armored comfort.” They are built for those who navigate the urban jungle, providing the stability of a work boot with the aesthetic of high-end streetwear.
Material focus: Water-Repellent Tumbled Leather For the upper, we use a heavy-duty tumbled leather. The “tumbling” process involves spinning the leather in a large drum with smooth pebbles, which breaks down the fibers to create a soft, pebbled texture that is incredibly resistant to scuffs and scratches. To ensure these boots can handle the elements, we apply a permanent DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating during the tanning process. The hardware consists of speed-hooks made from anti-corrosive gunmetal, allowing you to lace up and head out in seconds. A reinforced pull-tab at the heel ensures you can easily slide into the 6-inch shaft.
Engineering the “Commuter” Sole A combat boot is only as good as its grip. We have equipped these boots with a custom-engineered “Commuter” lug sole. This sole features a high-density rubber compound that provides exceptional traction on wet metal, smooth marble, and icy sidewalks. Despite its aggressive appearance, the midsole is injected with lightweight EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate), which provides sneaker-like cushioning. This hybrid approach means you get the durability of a boot without the heavy, clunky feeling that leads to leg fatigue after a long day of filming or commuting.
Styling and Maintenance The Urban Combat Boot is incredibly versatile. For a tactical, tech-focused look, pair them with our Athletic Jogger Pants and a Light Windbreaker. For a more classic “Americana” vibe, they look excellent with Classic Blue Jeans. Because these boots are meant to be used in tough conditions, they can be cleaned simply by wiping them with a damp cloth. Every few months, apply a heavy-duty leather conditioner to keep the tumbled hide from drying out.
